Oh so this is legit???

The world changes every day. The way we learn things and how we receive the knowledge that is given to us has been transformative. What do I mean? Well, when I look at the beginning of the spread information, it started with the word of mouth. Then, it went to paper, radio, television, and finally the internet. Numerous news sources put out material about different newsworthy things. I, however, only pay attention to the news when it is about sports.

However, I don’t just look at any news source because everyone is not right about whatever the topic is. If you want to learn something about a specific thing, you have to be patient and it has to be confirmed by a reliable source. Especially, when it comes to football.

In this era, we are too trusting in multiple news sources because we think it has to be true for it to be reported. This notion that I have brought forth was just proven true when it came to the reporting of the tragic accident that claimed Kobe Bryant’s life.

With this being said, there are only three news sources that I use to learn anything going in the football world.

ESPN

ESPN is essentially the G.O.A.T (Greatest of All Time) of all sports news media. It began in 1979 and was purchased by big brother, The Walt Disney Company. ESPN presents in depth coverage of every sport and what is currently going on that may cause controversy or any type of story that needs light shed on it.

I use ESPN because it is where I want to work someday. Growing up, I paid attention to the show First Take, which starred Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless. Their knowledge on sports is impeccable because of how in depth they go on disussing a recent game or the behavior of an athlete. Watching this created a passion for me wanting to be like them so I trusted their word on different sports and they have not been proven wrong. That also goes for anything else ESPN reports. They make sure they have everything they need to confirm a story before they publish it.

You never know, I may be your legitimate source of sports news one day.

247 Sports

247 Sports is probably the best source of news regarding high school recruits and college sports. This news source is known for discussing recruits and is probably the #1 recruiting service in the world. It has also became instrumental in not only ranking high school athletes but college athletes as well.

I started using 247 Sports as a new source when I want to learn more about what college teams are expecting on getting on National Signing Day. What is National Signing Day? It is when high school athletes sign to a university to play their respective sport. I had a profile on 247 Sports when I was in high school and it had all my scholarship offers that I had to play at different schools.

Since then 247 Sports has evolved into something more than just high school sports. Now it covers college sports, primarily football and basketball, and ranks athletes in their respective sport. I love looking at this site to gather information for the type of players college football teams are getting and how they may impact the team.

Fox Sports

Fox Sports South is the sports divison of Fox Broadcasting. This network is known for primarily football related news. Fox Sports is also known for their numerous talks shows that are hosted on their channels in the morning till the afternoon. The most popular show on Fox Sports, is Undisputed. This show is hosted by Hall of Famer, Shannon Sharpe, and well known television personality, Skip Bayless.

This particular source is something I just came into because of watching the show Undisputed. Along with Undisputed, I came to Fox Sports South because of the great reporting of Pam Oliver, who has done an amazing job reporting at NFL games and her articles, and Shannon Sharpe who is a Hall of Famer and one of the top five tv personalities in my book. Another reason I like Fox Sports South is because of their coverage of football and how they now do a better job covering other sports like basketball, baseball, and golf. Finally, I really want to be a TV personality for a sports talk show and I like to observe Shannon Sharpe because our personalities are similar.
