In today’s assignment, my group and I worked on Rheingold’s literacy principal known as participation. In doing this, we looked at lacrosse and golf and compared the difference of participation between the two sports. Golf is mainly a single player game that focuses on the talent of a single individual. Lacrosse on the the other hand is a game played by at least 11 players on the field. the level of participation in these sports are different and we we discuss it in the podcast.
In doing this assignment, I learned how to record a podcast and edit one. I also learned about two sports that are different than mine. It opened up my eyes to things that I did not really think about before recording this podcast. I felt like I gained a surplus of information of something outside of football and I think it will make be a better sports anchor/broadcaster in my future. Also learning how to do podcasts and edit them has made me more of a media enthusiast.
Now I can use the knowledge that I have on this subject and apply it to my resume to increase my value in the communications market. I also feel as if my new found knowledge on making podcast puts me one step closer to achieving my dream job.
